Second Place Rosette

BRITAIN-PILEI come from Gloucestershire, County of Cheeserollers, so I know what I’m talking about when it comes to Britain’s peculiar customs and rituals. So do The Emma Press – they’ve published a new anthology full of poems about ’em. Mine’s about the compulsion to fill municipal fountains with Fairy Liquid on Midsummer Eve, but there are also poems here of  maypole dancing, mehndi painting and medical prescriptions. Launched later this month, but you can buy one here.

Hi there again. Now that I have successfully purchased your album of poems from the poetryarchive.org can you tell me which books these poems appear in? I want to purchase the text, if possible, that goes along with these poems, be it a used book (or books) or otherwise. 🙂

If they are out of print and you don’t have any copies for sale personally, I will look for used books. I just need to know the titles to assist that search. 🙂 If you have books for sale yourself, I could paypal you the money for the book and shipping.

Hello! Glad you got hold of the CD. Most of the poems on there are from ‘Hannah and the Monk’ (Salt, 2008), but the last few are from ‘Twenty Four Seven Blossom’ (Salt, 2013). I think they’re both out of print now, but there are second hand copies to be had. My latest – ‘Now You Can Look’ (2017) is available from The Emma Press https://theemmapress.com/books/the-emma-press-poetry-pamphlets/now-you-can-look-by-julia-bird/ – happy shopping, and thanks for the interest!
