Back to Walthamstow for the Appetite Festival. From 12-2pm on Saturday 26 July, and from 12-3pm on Sunday 27, I’ll be running drop in sessions on Artillery Island for people to come and write foodie poems with me to celebrate their food festival visits. An ode to a cupcake, a sonnet to an artisan sourdough loaf, that sort of thing.
Then at 2.30pm on Saturday and 3.30pm on Sunday, Mike Sims and I will be reading in the latest of our ‘A Joy Forever’ events. John Keats’ sister lived in Walthamstow – we’ll be performing a short selection of his poems and letters, and toasting the relationship between a poet and his beloved little sister in tea and cake.
