My Keatsian friend Mike Sims and I are running another nightingale-flavoured event. Following last year’s Keats Roast Dinner, we’ve got a Keats Picnic coming up at home of the poet himself, on Sunday 8 June. Details here – it’s part of the Keats House summer festival.

The event is styled as if JK has gone off on one of his travels, and we’ll read the poems and letters he sent home. Suzie, our crack-shot caterer, has created lots of delicious-sounding picnic food: Isabella’s Chocolate Cake – which is iced with basil-infused cream – Plum Cake Glazed with Port – a nod to the tree in which Keats heard the nightingale – and so inventively on …
